Hey guys,
Just wanted a few opinions on a couple of Johnson Matthey bars I picked up today. As you can see the serial numbers are inscribed in two different styles. The two bars themselves are identical in weight and dimension and both passed an acid test using a testing stone and a new bottle of JSP testing acid. My only concern is the style of the etching with the bar on the left. It is much more rigid and almost looks like it was done by hand, where as the other bar is smooth and machine like.
I know JM bars are faked and available on the alibaba website. Has anyone seen a fake in person? What does the serial number look like?
